Electrical Work for Your Home

From a single consumer unit to a full rewire of a period property. Every job is planned, priced in writing and certified on completion.

Circuit01

Full & Partial Rewires

Rubber or fabric-covered cable, no earth on the lighting circuits, or a fuse board with wire fuses are the usual signs a house is due a rewire. We plan the work room by room, chase neatly and leave walls ready for the plasterer.

  • Test of the existing installation first
  • Room-by-room plan and fixed price
  • Sockets and lighting where you want them
  • First and second fix, made good
  • Certificate on completion

Consumer Unit Upgrades

If your fuse board still has wire fuses, has no RCD protection or sits in a plastic case, it's due an upgrade. New boards come in a non-combustible enclosure, as current regulations require, with RCD or RCBO protection on every circuit.

  • Every circuit tested before fitting
  • RCBOs, so one fault only trips one circuit
  • Surge protection where required
  • Earthing and bonding checked
  • Building control notification

Testing first matters. A new board will trip on faults the old one ignored, so we find them before you're left without power.

Kitchen & Extension Electrics

We work alongside your builder or kitchen fitter from first fix, so sockets, appliance circuits and lighting end up where the plans say, not where the cable happened to reach.

  • Cooker, hob and appliance circuits
  • Sockets and USB points planned to your layout
  • Under-cabinet, plinth and ceiling lighting
  • Extractor and underfloor heating supplies
  • Fitted around your builder's programme

Lighting Design & Installation

Good lighting is planned in layers: general light, task light over worktops and desks, and feature lighting that shows a room off. We'll suggest a layout, fittings and dimming, then install it cleanly.

  • LED downlights, fire-rated where needed
  • Pendant, wall and feature lighting
  • Dimming and smart control
  • LED strip in cabinets and plinths
  • Upgrades of existing fittings

Garden & Outdoor Electrics

Power and lighting for gardens, garden rooms, garages and outbuildings, run in armoured cable and properly protected. Outdoor circuits are where shortcuts get dangerous, so we don't take them.

  • Weatherproof outdoor sockets
  • Garden, path and security lighting
  • Supplies to garden rooms and garages
  • Hot tub supplies
  • EV-ready supplies for a future charger

Fault Finding & Repairs

Tripping RCDs, dead sockets, flickering lights or a burning smell. We trace the cause with proper test equipment rather than swapping parts until it stops.

  • Tripping traced to the circuit and cause
  • Insulation resistance testing
  • Dead sockets, lights and switches
  • Repairs after water damage or DIY
  • Written findings, fixed price to fix

If you can smell burning or see scorch marks on a socket or switch, turn off at the main switch and call us.

Survey, Price, Install, Certify

The same steps on a consumer unit swap or a full rewire. Nothing is priced over the phone that needs seeing first.

We look at what's there and test the existing installation before we price work on it. Smaller jobs can often be priced from photos.

02

Written quote and dates

Costs broken down by element, a start date we hold to, and anything that changes agreed in writing first.

03

Install, test, certify

Tidy work, site cleared each day, and the right certificate issued on completion with the next test date noted.

Home Electrics Questions

Something we haven't covered? Give us a call or send us the details.

How do I know if my house needs rewiring?

Common signs are rubber or fabric-covered cable, a fuse board with wire fuses, no RCD protection, scorch marks on sockets or switches, and fuses that keep blowing. An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) will tell you for certain, and is recommended every 10 years for an owner-occupied home.

Can we stay in the house during a rewire?

Often, yes. We work room by room and keep power on where we can. There'll be dust and some time without power to parts of the house, and we plan that with you before we start.

Will I get a certificate?

Yes. You get an Electrical Installation Certificate or Minor Works Certificate, and notifiable work is registered with building control through our scheme.

Do you charge for a quote?

No. Smaller jobs can usually be priced from a description and a few photos. Larger jobs start with a free survey so the price reflects what's actually there.
